Genre Decision Blog

                                                          Genre Decision

It took me a while to decide upon which genre I would choose to make my opening sequence. I did a lot of research. I watched an enormous amount of opening sequence in a variety of different genres. I then decided that I wanted to my movie to be an coming of age kind of movie. So, I have decided that the genre for my opening sequence will be mainly drama, along with comedy and romance.

This along sides with what my pitch is. My pitch is :"The daughter of a very wealthy man finds herself throughout the movie and leaves behind her monochromatic life and going on adventures against her fathers will. " I have envisioned this film already. There will be a lot of drama throughout it. The daughter will have arguments and confrontations with her father, and she will go through a lot  of drama along her journey of finding herself and being free. There will also be comedy included within it. There will be times along her journey where she will meet humorous people or go through comical events. There will also be romance. She will meet the love of her life along her journey. She will also go through trial and error with other people.

So with all of this context about the whole entire movie, I will tie this all together within my opening sequence. I will be able to push these genres into the opening sequence through various ways. For example I will use font. I will use colors such as red or pink which give off romance vibes. I will also add dramatic music to signal that it is drama. I will also have my actor go through comedic things during the opening sequence. I honestly love comedic and dramatic movies. It is very amusing to watch and always keeps me intrigued as to what will happen next. I especially love when they sprinkle romance into these movies which is why I have chosen these genres to do myself.
