This movie is within the drama and comedy genre. This movie was able to exquisitely use film production techniques to make it clear to the audience that these were the genres that the movie was produced within. The camera angles of the film helped the audience to see how the whole setting of how the protagonists acted throughout the movie. The angles were for the most part set a far to capture the whole reaction of the actors in the film. •What elements of the genre did the movie have that you like?
This was an excellent movie, the majority of it is historically accurate, which always is good, and the plot is executed perfectly. There are plenty of movies focused on racial segregation, but it's much different than most. Not only does it revolve around the concept of racial inequality, it focuses on gender inequality as well. But not only that, most movies with the same motive pick a poor cast, and aim for a more comedic approach, which doesn't work as much. The characters are portrayed greatly with an exceptionally well cast, and displays powerful women fighting for their rights to beat racial inequality and become NASA engineers, which they all exceed at.
•What elements of the genre did the movie have that did not appeal to you?
.One of the main problems of the film is that it builds the drama in a very naïve, very artificial, very intentional way. But, this is done in most drama genre films so this was expected.
