-What titles are displayed during the opening sequences?
During this opening sequence, the designer displayed multiple titles within a span of four minutes. They first showed the directors and the writers. Then, they showed the producers and co producers. Then they showed the names of the actors that starred in the movie. They then displayed the names of all of the people who worked to make the film what it is.
- What images are prioritized in the opening sequence?
During this title sequence, they showed images of different novels. They showed the images of these novels while displaying the names of the actors who starred in this movie.
- What connotations do these images carry?
Each novel carried a different connotation. They showed a total of 12 novels. Each once of these novels carry a different story so I'm actually not sure what the connotation of these images were.
- How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset?
The film establishes a feeling of genre from the outset through a few different ways. The title designer used the song "I hear symphony" during this title sequence. This established the genre because it's a light song so it allows the audience to know that this film will most likely be in the drama/satire genre. The title designer also didn't make this title extremely seriously. When I say this I mean that the designer didn't use much editing or any camera angles/movements at all. This added a light feeling to the title which establishes a feeling that the genre will most likely be drama/satire.
- What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience?
The title designer used the song " I hear symphony". This song is an old time song. This song will appeal to the adult/middle age audience which I'm guessing this films target audience is. Also the font used is a font used back in the 70s. This sets the movies date back in time even though it was released in 2014. This appeals to its target audience which is adults.
- How has technology been used effectively? You want to consider camera angles, transitions and editing techniques.
This title sequence actually didn't use much technology. The designer recorder a book unsteadily for about 3 second and then put it side by side with the names of the people included in this film. He used split screen editing and a close up camera angle.
